NTPC to set up 2,640 Mw plant in Madhya Pradesh

State-run power producer NTPC today said it has entered into an agreement with the Madhya Pradesh government and MP Power Trading Company for setting up a 2,640 MW thermal power plant in the Narsinghpur district of the state. - NTPC to add 25,000 Mw capacity in 12th Plan - 1320 Mw TTPS expansion by 2010 - Drivers" strike hits coal supply - And then there were none... - NTPC plans 100 Mw solar projects in Gujarat - NTPC to appoint merchant banker for S Africa coal mine "The government is committed to the capacity addition programme in the power sector and shall provide all the necessary clearances for fast implementation of the project," Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said on the occasion of signing of the memorandum of understanding here. This project would have four units of 660 Mw each with supercritical technology, NTPC said in a statement. NTPC has total installed capacity of 30,644 Mw through 26 power plants. The company has capacity addition target of becoming 75 Gw by 2017 and currently has 17,930 Mw under construction.
