Air India bookings return to pre-strike level

The airline has regained the booking levels that it had prior to the last week"s stir by its senior pilots, which had disrupted its operations, the statement said. AI said while it was averaging bookings in the range of 26,000-28,000 prior to September 25, the same had come down to as low as 9,000 on September 30, the last day of the strike. Over 180 executive pilots of Air India had struck work for over five days recently over planned pay-cuts. The agitation was called off after the government assured them that status quo would prevail on cost-cutting measures relating to productivity-linked incentive (PLI). The airline had also announced attractive fares to woo its clientele back in the wake of the strike.
